Epic Life Plan

5 Pillars to Live an Epic Life

Corey Kaster, the founder of Inbundance, has always been into personal development. He is a stand for everyone living a more epic life than they ever imagined. This stand has developed into an integration with the insurance agency to provide a mountain of free resources. He takes things he learns from a variety of sources and distills them to bite-size nuggets to chew on and consider.

Take as much or as little as you would like and share with your community as you feel inspired!
*note - this is all just shared from personal experience of years of trying things, reading, going to seminars, reflection, meditation, epiphanies, etc. All standard disclaimers apply - do it at your own risk - of death, or being amazing. • Epic Purpose

    • Meditation - minimum 20 minutes/day, goal of 2 hours (you’ll get there, trust me) - it’s like charging your cell phone or working out

    • Listen to the thing that beats your heart vs. your mind instead of trying to force the mind to be quiet. Experiment with what works - silence, guided, background sounds/noise/music

    • Read - yes, the TV isn’t expensive... it’s WATCHING TV that’s expensive!

    • Meditate on your goals. Why do you want those things? Is it to feel a sense of accomplishment? Prove something? Or benefit yourself and the world?

    • Where are you living too small? - Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us. - Marianne Williamson

  • Epic Finances

    • Finance audit

      • eliminate excess

        • things you don’t ACTUALLY enjoy/grow from

        • monthly subscriptions

        • Starbucks habit, bottled water, impulse items

        • TV - cut the cord. Hulu & Netflix provide plenty and if you can avoid those even better!

      • Assets vs. liabilities - is the thing you are going to purchase create income or lose value over time?

      • If you want that Tesla that’s $1,000/month don’t think about how to get that liability - think about what could you invest in that will generate $1,000/month to buy the Tesla and not worry about those payments!

      • light vs. heavy purchases/buying/belongings - Does it align with your highest purpose/calling?

      • W2

        • Become more valuable then ask for a raise/get that promotion/find a job somewhere else

        • Do you love what you do? If not, start meditating on the things you enjoy doing/love/flow states, do Kyle Cease work, and go from there

        • Know that you are going to be limited at some point by pay for time and just know there’s a path to change that.

      • Entrepreneur

        • Go through the Entrepreneurial Shift from Kyle Cease

        • Do you love what you do? If not, start meditating, do Kyle Cease work, and go from there

        • What is light and what is heavy?

        • Provide more value by brainstorming what you’re good at then seeing how you can use that to provide more value

    • Credit Card Debt

      • Join a credit union, consolidate it onto one account, freeze your cards in a jar of ice! Set them all up to pay themselves in FULL every month from your checking account. Just keep something simple like your cell phone bill recurring to show credit activity but don’t carry them with you.

    • Savings buckets - start in this order

      • 10% savings - revel in the feeling you will have when some unexpected expense comes up and you have 3-6 months of savings tucked away to use and then replenish without having to pay interest. That unexpected expense is now just it’s original cost - not that cost X interest for years!

      • 10% investment - includes investing in yourself!

      • 10% bucket list/adventure/travel

      • More Info about the T. Harve Eker JARS Money Management System HERE

    • Renting?

      • What tools do you have to use toward a down payment?

        • FHA loans go as low as 3.5% down

        • Loan against current 401K - can loan up to 50%

        • Family - don’t be afraid to ask - they will want to help you not rent any more!

    • Own

      • house hacking

        • Regular roommates?

          • Make sure rents are fair

          • Consider hosting on Airbnb

        • Build an ADU/convert portion of the house to ADU

      • leverage

        • Use equity in your home to invest

      • GroundFloor.us - micro investing in fix/flips - 7-14% returns - can invest w/IRA? (As of 10/18 no, but they are working on it)

    • Retirement accounts sitting with previous employers? ROLL THEM OVER! The fees within a 401K are higher than an IRA so you’re wasting money

    • 401K at work? - If employer matches put in the max they will match, then start putting extra somewhere else. Consider if you invest in Groundfloor and get 11% even after you factor in the tax benefits you would have gotten from an IRA you might still be ahead with Groundfloor or another investment. IRAs were set up for the average investor and you're better than average!

  • Epic Relationships

    • Friend audit

      • Energy vampires

      • Toxic relationships

    • Be the person you want to be/love

  • Epic Contribution

    • What are you good at?

    • How are you giving your gift to the world?

    • Do something every day to improve the life of someone or the world

    • Contribution is to a non-profit, a friend, anyone!

  • Epic Health

    • Explore nutrition and systems that are ideal for you and see what works

      • Intermittent fasting - usually a 12-8 eating window even a few days a week (Ideally Sunday-Thursday consistently) will regulate hormones, shed excess pounds, make you feel better, etc.

      • Other Suppelements I take - Vegan Omega 3, Men's Daily, B Complex

    • Eliminate processed foods as much as possible - 80/20 rule

    • Switch to free range/organic/etc.

    • Consider whole food plant based for your health as much as the planet. Vegans live on average 7.8 years longer than omnivores. What will you do with all those extra years of your life?

    • Eliminate toxins - artificial colognes, body sprays, soaps, shampoos, hand soaps, hand creams, any product that touches your skin - would you eat it? because you are through your skin. Also switch to all-natural cleaning products for your home (make sure your housekeeper is on board) as well as laundry detergent, etc. All these things impact your overall health

  • Think Dirty - app to check products for toxins

  • Use Screen Time on iPhone to have “downtime” at least 12 hours/day

  • Turn off notifications for almost everything! Those numbers by the apps on your phone create constant stress/anxiety

  • Turn on DO NOT DISTURB while you sleep if not for longer

  • circadian rhythm

  • get a light to jump start your mornings if you get up before the sun

  • Get 20 mins of sun exposure first thing in the morning

  • Reduce light levels and eliminate screen time close to bedtime

  • Identify and eliminate bad food habits/associations/dependency

  • Fitness/activity - explore until you find something you love

  • Yoga. period. Do it until you love it. If you need convincing Google the benefits. It’s called Yoga Practice for a reason.
